Dependent Child subclass 101, 802

  • The child must be the natural, adopted or step child of an
    Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
  • The child must be under 25 years old at time of application but if 18 years or over must prove that they are a full time student and totally dependent on the sponsoring parent. The only exception to this requirement is if the child has a disability that stops them from working.
  • The child must be sponsored by the Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen parent.
  • All applicants must satisfy health requirements.
  • Applicants 16 years or over must satisfy character requirements.
  • Application can be made inside Australia or outside Australia.
  • This visa provides permanent residence at visa grant.
