General Skilled Migration Visas

assessment_buttonGeneral skilled migration visas are granted on the basis of the main applicant being able to meet all the requirements of the Australian migration regulations for general skilled migration visas.   General skilled migration visas are divided into a number of different subclasses each with it's own individual requirements. These subclasses have certain key criteria that is applicable to all the visas, these are: Age - the main applicant must be under 45 years of age when the visa application is lodged with the Australian Immigration Department. Skill - the main applicant nominate a skilled occupation that is listed on the Australian Immigration Department skilled occupations list , the applicant must have a minimum of 12 in the last 24 months of full time work experience in their nominated skilled occupation or a closely related skilled occupation that is also listed on the skilled occupations list.

Language - the main applicant for this type of  visa must have either vocational or competent English language skills depending on their nominated occupation. Applicants who are passport holders from United Kingdom, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada & USA will be awarded 15 points for English language, all other passport holders will be required to undertake an IELTS test to demonstrate their English language skills are at the desired level. skills-list

All  visas are points tested.   The main applicant will be able to score points for the following factors: Age, English language, skills, specific work experience,  Australian employment, Australian qualifications, designated language, study & living in regional Australia, partner skills, state/territory nomination, designated area sponsorship. Applicants are required to meet the current points pass mark for the particular subclass of visa that they are applying for based on the above factors.
