Skilled Regional Designated Area Family Sponsored Visa Subclass 475
- Main applicant under the Regional Designated Area Family Sponsored Visa subclass must be under 45 at time of visa application lodgement with the Australian Department of Immigration.
- Main applicant must have undertaken a successful pre-application skills assessment (PASA) in their nominated occupation that is listed on the skilled occupations list before the visa application is lodged. Click here to see list.
- Main applicant must meet the minimum English language requirements for their nominated occupation
either by IELTS testing or a passport from an accepted English speaking country. Applicants may qualify still qualify for this visa with an overall IELTS test score of 5.5 if they have made arrangements with the sponsoring state or territory government to upgrade their English language skills to competent after arrival.
- Main applicant under the Regional Designated Area Family Sponsored Visa subclassmust have 12 in the last 24 months of full time work experience in their nominated occupation or a closely related occupation that is on the skilled occupations list.
- Main applicant must be sponsored by an eligible family member who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen who is living in a regional area of Australia that is deemed as a designated area for the purpose of general skilled migration. - Acceptable family sponsorship awards the applicant 25 points towards the points pass mark for this visa.
- Main applicant must meet the existing points pass mark for this
subclass of visa - currently 100 points.
- All applicants must satisfy health requirements.
- All applicants 16 years or older must satisfy character requirements.
- Visa gives temporary residence with full employment rights as at time of visa grant. This visa is valid for 3 years and allows multiple entry into and out of Australia during this period.
- Requires visa holders to give an undertaking to work for 1 year and live in a designated area of Australia for the initial 2 years of their residence.
- 2 stage visa that allows the applicant to apply for permanent residence when the 1 year work and 2 years living in a designated area conditions have been met.
Note: This visa subclass does not give the holders entitlement to health care cover under the Medicare program or access to the state education system.
