Skilled State Territory Sponsored Visa - Subclass 176

• Main applicant must be under 45 at time of visa application lodgement with the Australian Department of Immigration.

• Main applicant must have undertaken a successful pre-application skills assessment (PASA) in their nominated occupation that is listed on the skilled occupations list before the visa application is lodged.   Click here to see list.

• Main applicant must meet the minimum English language requirements for their nominated occupation either by IELTS testing or a passport from an accepted English speaking country.

• Main applicant must have 12 in the last 24 months of full time work experience in their nominated occupation or a closely related occupation that is on the skilled occupations list (Form 1121i).

• Main applicant must have a nominated occupation that is currently listed on a state or territory skills shortage list.  Click here to see state lists.

• Main applicant must be sponsored by a participating state or territory.

• Main applicant must meet the existing points pass mark for this subclass of visa - currently 100 points. State/territory sponsorship awards 10 points towards the applicants points pass mark.

• All applicants must satisfy health requirements.

• All applicants 16 years or older must satisfy character requirements.

• Visa gives permanent residence as at time of visa grant. This visa is valid for 5 years and allows multiple entry into and out of Australia during this period.

• Requires visa holders to give an undertaking to live and work in the sponsoring state for the initial 24 months of residency in Australia.
